13 steps to start a pool pump for the first time

start-a-pool-pump-for-the-first-time
After installing a new pool pumps, and performs all the plumbing and electrical connections, one very critical procedure is when you start the pool pump for the first time. To create adequate suction to pull water out of the pool, push it through the filter and back into the pool through the return lines, pool pump must be filled. The primer is required when a new pump is installed or when the air enters the suction and return pipes, for example, when the water level in the swimming pool may drop below the skimmer or leaky sealing ring pump draws air into the system. Because a lot of air in the system can be lines after the existing pump was removed and installed a new pump priming new installation may require repetition priming procedure several times to completely purge the system of air. Does that spark an idea?

Instructions to start a pool pump for the first time
  1. Turn off the power of the new pump at the main switch.
  2. Make sure that the water level in the pool skimmer above reception. Turn the diverter valve is located in the suction line to the pump to the "skimmer" setting so that only water is taken from the skimmers and not from the main drain.
  3. Remove the lid from the box filter pump. If the cover is secured with regulators, turn the knob counter-clockwise to loosen and then turn the handle of the lid. If the cap-screw on the variety, rotate the cap counterclockwise and remove from the filter.
  4. Fill the box with filter pump water from a hose to the overflow box. Filter cover and tighten by hand.
  5. Ensure that the switching valve in the return line is in an open position and a multiport valve on the filter "filter" configuration.
  6. Open the pressure relief valve on top of the filter by turning it counterclockwise.
  7. Turn on the power to the pump at the main switch and listen to ensure that the pump motor is running. Note flow of water through the window in the lid of the pump filter. Water flow should be visible within one minute or less
  8. Observe the safety valve on top of the filter and listen to the sound of escaping air. When the water starts to spurt out of the safety valve, close the valve by turning it clockwise.
  9. Follow pointer water pressure on top of the filter to stabilize the pressure reading
  10. Turn off the pump and repeat steps 1 to 10, if the pressure is not registered on the filter gauge in one minute. Resolution pump to operate more than one minute without water flow can damage the pump parts.
  11. Turn the diverter valve on the suction line slowly "skimmer" to "Main Drain" Set point flow of water through the pump constant pressure checked and registered on the gauge.
  12. Turn the valve on top of the filter counterclockwise to release air from the main drain line from the system. When a steady stream of water spurts from the safety valve, close the valve by turning it clockwise.
  13. Turn the diverter valve on the suction line to the standard operating slowly a middle position between "Main Drain" operation and the "skimmer" setting.
